Business Cards: The Bottom Line

Business Cards are more than just a handout to customers so they will remember you. They are also the quickest and easiest marketing tool you have. They are a reminder of who you are and who your business is. They will “travel” faster than any newspaper, radio or tv advertisement ever will. Business Cards can be a first impression to prospective clients you have never met. They are, in essence, your own personal billboard.

• Stand out in the crowd with you business card! Make yours memorable and hard to forget. If you have a plain white card with a few lines of black lettering, they will get lost amongst others in a stack of forgotten cards. Don’t be afraid to be different with your business card. Differences are what will get you noticed and remembered.

• Instead of using one or two colours (plus the standard black print and white business card) go all the way and order them with full colour. The price might (Depending on where you get them printed or if you print them yourself) be a little bit higher, but one new client will make the price difference pay for itself. It is worth it!

• Make sure you have your basic information on the card. The minimum you should have on there is your name (most importantly), business logo, an address, a phone number, an email address and a website address. There is nothing worse than forgetting to put and address, email address or phone number and having to hand-write it on every card you give out.

• Always buy them in bulk. The more you hand out, the more your name and business will get out in the world. You can never have too many business cards, but you can have too little.

You have seven square inches to make a lasting impression. This will be what you are remembered by and associated with after you are gone. Instead of looking for a piece of paper and a pen to write your information down to be contacted with, leave a memorable and usable business card. Word of mouth is the best seller, and this little rectangular card can represent you when your name is spread around.
